A West Kerry principal says he expects a very bright future for Olympic medallist Josie Knight.

24-year-old Josie Knight grew up in Dingle and is part of the Team GB cycling team that's won silver in the women's team pursuit on the track.

She attended Scoil an Ghleanna and principal Seanchán Mac Gearailt says her Olympic medal is a cause for celebration for all of Kerry and Ireland.

Mr Mac Gearailt says this was her first full year training with Team GB and he expects there are many more good things in store for her.

The West Kerry principal says Josie was always a very hardworking and determined person:
