Plans have been unveiled for a major private housing development in Killarney.
Homeland Projects Ltd have applied to Kerry County Council for planning permission to build 134 housing units off Ross Road.
The company writes in its planning statement that this will provide much-needed housing with a creche facility near other residential developments.
The development is located just off Ross Road, and the site is already served by a vehicular entrance on to Ross Road, with another vehicular entrance and another pedestrian entrance planned.
The company plans to build 65 houses, 55 of which are to be three-beds with ten four-bed houses.
There will also be 51 townhouses, each of two or three beds, with a further 18 one and two-bed apartments.
There are plans to build a creche to cater for the additional childcare demand in the estate, with capacity for 102 children.
235 car parking spaces are planned for the site.
As part of its social housing obligations, the company proposes to provide 27 housing units to Kerry County Council.
In its planning statement, the company writes this development represents a high-quality, residential development at an appropriate density, that will complement the existing and evolving character of the local area.
