Resilience Healthcare Ltd was given the go-ahead to amalgamate two existing ground floor units, and change of use from vehicle repair workshop and storage to day care service.
The service will provide social, educational, and life skills training for vulnerable local adults with disabilities.
The company already supports adults with autism, intellectual disabilities, sensory processing disorders, and other additional disabilities from its base at the KCYS building on Upper Church Street in Listowel.
The company wrote that the relocation will significantly enhance accessibility, service quality, and service integration, located within walking distance of the town centre and surrounded by amenities.
It’s proposed that there will be a maximum of ten staff and clients at the centre at any one time, which will operate between 9am and 6pm.
The facility is set to include an activity room, kitchen, sensory room, changing and bathroom facilities, and an office/meeting room.
Planning was granted subject to six conditions.
