Planning application submitted to revamp shop in Farranfore

A planning application has been submitted to revamp an existing Centra store in Farranfore village.

The plans have been put forward to Kerry County Council to demolish the existing shop and rebuild a larger store

Former Kerry football manager and owner of the site, Peter Keane, is proposing significant developments to the Centra at Farranfore.

These include the construction of a new shop and filling station, along with a new car wash and extended car park.

The proposed shop will also include food service and a new seating area for customers.

As part of the plans, the Cahersiveen businessman is seeking to demolish the existing Centra and adjacent house

A planning report submitted to Kerry County Council by consulting engineer Frank Coffey says that Mr. Keane is optimistic about the development potential of Farranfore Village.

Once Kerry County Council validates the planning application, it will then set a date to decide on the development.
