Suicide prevention charity Pieta is closing its centre in Kerry with administrative staff to lose their jobs.
However, Pieta says it’s working to secure a new location in Tralee over the coming months.
Its current centre in Moyderwell will close in June.
The charity had been operating in Moyderwell, Tralee since 2015.
That centre is to close and Pieta says it and its bases in Athlone and Waterford will move to a co-located outreach model.
Pieta says it's not been decided where this new co-located outreach will be.
The charity says it remains fully committed to Tralee and the surrounding communities.
It says it will work closely with stakeholders and partners to secure a serviced location in Tralee over the coming months.
Therapists working in the Moyderwell, Tralee centre are unaffected however, administrative workers – understood to be around a couple of employees – will lose their jobs.
Pieta says it’s been unable to sustain the level of funding needed in the last few years, due to inflation and cost of living increases.
It says its next phase will involve strengthening its regional and local service model aligned with national health strategies and that it will establish a presence within every integrated healthcare area, thereby making Pieta services more accessible.
