Permission sought to extend north Kerry substation compound

Planning permission is being sought for a control building for an electricity substation in north Kerry.

EirGrid is applying to Kerry County Council to build the 110kV building at the existing substation at Trienearagh, Listowel.

The development includes the extension of the compound owned by the ESB and reconfiguration of the vehicular entrance onto the R555.

A Natura Impact Statement has been included in the application.

Planners will decide on the application in the coming months.
