An Coimisiún Pleanála has granted permission for 134 residential units to be built on Ross Road, in Killarney.
Kerry County Council approved the application by developer, Homeland Projects Ltd. with 35 conditions, last September
Castle Falls Residents Association and residents of 53 to 65 Cahernane Meadows appealed this in October.
The largescale residential development (LRD) will comprise of ten × 4-bed and 55 × 3-bed houses, 32 × 3-bed and 19 × 2-bed townhouses, twelve × 2-bed and six × 1-bed apartments.
The development will also include a crèche for up to 102 children, car parking with some EV charging points, and bicycle parking.
An Coimisiún Pleanála ultimately decided to grant planning permission for the 134 units.
The inspector said the development was consistent with the zoning and objectives of the Kerry County Development Plan.
The commission was satisfied that environmental impacts could be adequately mitigated, and that the scheme would not seriously injure the residential amenities of the area.
Construction must begin within the next five years.
