People in North Kerry are being urged to donate blood at a clinic this evening.
The Irish Blood Transfusion Service says it needs to build up stock of all types of blood to ensure continuity of supply to Irish hospitals.
There is a clinic in Ballybunion Community Centre this evening between 4:50 and 8:10, with new and returning donors welcome at all clinics.
The IBTS says nationally, there are only 2.6 days’ stock of O negative blood, and demand for blood in Irish hospitals continues to rise month on month.
Anyone who can donate blood is asked to phone 1800 222 111 to make an appointment at the clinic this evening.
