A man who was critically injured in a hit-and-run in Ardfert has died.
The collision, involving the man who'd been walking on the road, and a car occurred on Monday night in the Tubrid More area.
The pedestrian, a man in his 30s, was seriously injured in this collision which happened around 9.20pm on Monday.
He was taken to University Hospital Kerry with life-threatening injuries and Gardaí confirmed that he died this morning.
They says a post-mortem examination will take place.
Gardaí say the driver of the car had left the scene before they arrived.
A technical examination of the scene was completed earlier this week and Gardaí are appealing to
anyone with information regarding this incident to contact them.
They are asking that anyone who travelled in the Tubrid More (Bullock Hill / Weather Well), Doon North, Lisloose, Station Road, Ardfert, area between 7.30pm and 9.30pm on Monday who witnessed anything or may have camera footage, including dash-cam, to contact them.
They are specifically interested in speaking to anyone who may have witnessed a man on the road during this period.
