Palliative Care Week is being celebrated throughout Ireland this week, with a series of online events being held to mark the occasion.

The theme of this year's event, is to get across the message to the public, that many uplifting and positive things happen at palliative care units throughout the country, even during times of great sadness.

Dr Mags Clifford, who is a Consultant in Palliative Medicine at University Hospital Kerry, says the aim of all staff at the unit in Tralee, is to ensure that patients live as well as they can, for as long as they can:
