Paddywagon bus fire in Castlemaine believed to be caused by electrical issue

It is believed that an electrical issue caused the fire onboard a Paddywagon bus in Castlemaine last Saturday.

The passengers and driver were safely evacuated and no serious injuries were reported.

A spokesperson for Paddywagon has said that a team is actively investigating the cause of the fire but believe the fault to be an electrical issue.

They praised the driver's actions and following of safety procedures during the incident.

The bus was certified as safe for travel.

Paddywagon say that they are extremely grateful to the emergency services that responded, and the quick assistance of the locals who were present.

Castlemaine councillor Tommy Griffin also expressed his gratitude to the fire brigade.

He praised their quick and effective response to the incident.

Councillor Griffin was relieved that no injuries were suffered.
