There was an overall drop in weapons crimes recorded in Kerry last year.
That’s according to crime data released by the Central Statistics Office for 2025.
It shows there was an 8.5% drop in weapons and explosives crimes in the county, at 64, down from 70.
Five arrests for possession of a firearm were recorded, down from six in 2024; and explosives-chemical weapons incidents fell from one to zero.
53 offensive weapons offences were registered, unchanged on the previous year.
Meanwhile, three incidents of discharging a firearm were recorded last year, up from zero in 2024.
