Over €97,000 in funding has been allocated to five Kerry social enterprises.
The allocation, under the Dormant Accounts Funding scheme, is to assist these groups achieve their social, environmental or economic objectives.
Among the social enterprises to benefit in Kerry is the Torc Community and Family Resource Centre, which has been allocated over €57,000 (€57,533.61) to purchase a van and 15 charity donation bins.
NEWKD (€12,258); Social Action Group Rathmore CLG (€15,000); Valentia Community Health and Welfare Association (€6,296); and Kerry Respite Care (€6,287) are the other groups to receive grants.
The funding has been welcomed by Minister of State Michael Healy-Rae; Independent deputy, Danny Healy-Rae; Equality Minister and Kerry Fianna Fáil TD, Norma Foley; and her party colleague, deputy Michael Cahill.
