Over €65,000 in funding has been allocated for integration projects in Kerry.
The 2025 Integration Fund helps enable community organisations across Ireland to play a greater role in promoting the integration of migrants.
Six groups in Kerry are to share in the funding.
South Kerry Development Partnership CLG's Integration Course Welcome-Connect project is to get €25,920.
The Tralee International Resource Centre’s (TIRC) Empowering Voices: Ambassador Programme for International Protection Applicants and those with status in the Kerry Community Integration Forum (CIF), as well as the Azadi CLG Blow-ins of the Iveragh project will each receive €10,000.
Ballybunion / North Kerry Environmental Forum’s Stepping Stones to Integration project has been allocated €9,980, while €8,000 is going towards the South West Kerry Family Resource Centre’s Interculture Awareness& Support South West project.
The Kenmare Family Resource Centre is to get €1,600 for music therapy.
The funding has been welcomed by Minister for Children, Disability and Equality Norma Foley; Fianna Fáil TD Michael Cahill; Minister of State Michael Healy-Rae and Independent TD Danny Healy-Rae.
