Over €45,000 in funding allocated for Kerry farm safety, health and wellbeing projects

Over €45,000 in funding has been announced for farm safety, health and wellbeing projects in Kerry.

It’s part of over 1.8 million in supports announced by the Department of Agriculture.

South Kerry Development Partnership will benefit from €25,000 for initiatives; and NEWKD Tralee has been allocated over €17,000 (€17,400) for their safe tractor driving skills course.

Ballybunion Community Centre is to receive almost €3,400 (€3,390) for enhancing mental health and wellbeing among farmers.

The funding has been welcomed by Equality Minister Norma Foley, Fianna Fáil Deputy Michael Cahill and Independent TD Michael Healy-Rae.
