Over €395,000 allocated to Kerry under the Community Monuments Fund

Over €395,000 has been allocated to Kerry under the Community Monuments Fund.

It’s part of €8 million in funding announced for more than 100 projects nationally under the scheme for 2026.

The Community Monuments Fund supports initiatives to conserve, maintain, protect and promote local monuments and historic sites.

Ahamore Abbey in Derrynane has been allocated more than €128,000; and Castleisland Castle is to receive over €124,000.

€120,000 will go towards Kyrie Eleison Abbey in Abbeydorney, while Killagh Priory, Milltown will benefit from over €23,000.

The funding has been welcomed by Equality Minister Norma Foley, Fianna Fáil TD Michael Cahill, and Fine Gael Senator Mike Kennelly.
