Over €229,000 in funding has been announced for historic buildings in Kerry.
The Built Heritage Investment Scheme will grant €8.1 million in conservation support across Ireland.
The funding has been welcomed by Senator Mike Kennelly, Minister Norma Foley, Deputy Michael Cahill and Deputy Danny Healy-Rae.
37 projects in Kerry are set to benefit from the funding announced today by Housing Minister James Browne.
The Built Heritage Investment Scheme helps to protect and enhance historic buildings, while also preserving traditional building skills.
Some Kerry projects receiving funding include:
The former Presentation Convent, Rathmore and Villa Nova Cahersiveen, which will receive over €11,400 each.
Over €10,000 is granted for wall repairs to the Phoenix Building in Tralee
The Daniel O'Connell Memorial Church in Caherciveen will receive over €8,000.
And over €7,500 in funding will go to Presentation Secondary School in Castleisland.
