Over €16 million in funding has been announced for national roads in Kerry.
It’s part of €633 million package allocated today by Transport Minister, Darragh O’Brien.
The funding includes €502 from exchequer capital funding, alongside €98 under public private parnterships; and €33 million to local authorities for national road maintenance.
Among the projects to receive investment are N22 Farranfore to Killarney bypass, and the N70
Meanwhile, major funding has been announced for the Adare bypass.
The announcement has been welcomed by Minister of State Michael Healy-Rae, independent Deputy Danny-Healy-Rae, and Minister for Children and Kerry Fianna Fáil TD, Norma Foley; and Deputy Michael Cahill.
€16.2 million in funding has been announced for national roads in Kerry under today’s announcement.
This includes €3 million for the N22 Killarney to Farranfore bypass, under exchequer funding through Transport Infrastructure Ireland (TII).
Minister of State Michael Healy-Rae says this allocation signals real intent to deliver the Kerry-Cork Economic Corridor.
The funding also includes €2.5 million for N72 Fossa village road; over €1.8 million for the N70 Creamery cross to Kenneigh Phase 2; €1.25 million for the Tralee to An Daingean road; and €750,000 for the Listowel bypass, which opened last year.
