Over €1 million in funding has been allocated to Kerry Airport.
This funding was announced by Minister for Transport Darragh O’Brien.
The announcement has been welcomed by Kerry TDs Michael Cahill, Norma Foley, Michael Healy-Rae, and Danny Healy-Rae, and Senator Mike Kennelly.
Minister for Transport Darragh O’Brien has announced that €4 million in exchequer funding is being allocated to regional airports under the Regional Airports Programme 2021-2025.
Kerry Airport is to receive €1.4 million, Ireland West (Knock) Airport is to receive an allocation of €1.9 million while Donegal Airport will get €700,000.
Minister O’Brien says this funding will go towards supporting payroll costs in air traffic control, fire services and security screening.
This funding is in addition to the €7.8 million in capital supports announced for these airports earlier this year.
