Over 90 delegates from 15 countries are attending the second subsea cable security and resilience symposium in South Kerry.
The symposium is taking place in Valentia Island Transatlantic Cable Station this week.
Among those attending are Minister for Foreign Affairs and Defence Helen McEntee and Commincations Minister Patrick O'Donovan.
The event will examine restoration and repair as core elements of resilience in global connectivity and how this is reflected in current policy and practice.
Dr Camino Kavanagh is a senior visiting fellow with the Department of War Studies at King’s College London.
