Over 800 applicants are on the social housing waiting list in the Listowel MD area.
That’s according to figures provided at the recent Municipal District meeting.
Social housing units are sought by 864 applicants in the Listowel Municipal District.
That figure includes applicants who have indicated Listowel as one of their three areas of choice.
446 are awaiting one bed units; 245 applications have been made for two-bed homes; and 136 are on the list for 3 bed units.
31 applicants are awaiting 4 bed houses, while six are on the list for 5 bed homes.
Excluding transfers from other MD areas - 546 people are awaiting social housing within the Municipal District.
There are currently 36 vacant units in the Listowel MD; of these seven dwellings are under repair and unallocated; 16 units are awaiting repairs; and 13 homes are under repair and allocated.
