Over 800 applicants are on the social housing waiting list in the Kenmare MD area.
That’s according to figures provided at the recent Municipal District meeting.
Social housing units are sought by 812 applicants in the Kenmare Municipal District.
That figure includes applicants who have indicated Kenmare as one of their three areas of choice.
445 are awaiting one bed units; 218 applications have been made for two-bed homes; and 125 are on the list for three-bed units.
23 applicants are awaiting four-bed houses, while one is on the list for a five-bed home.
Excluding transfers from other MD areas - 533 applicants are awaiting social housing within the Municipal District.
There are currently 13 vacant units in the Kenmare MD; 8 of these dwellings are awaiting repairs; three are under repair and allocated, while two are under repair and unallocated.
