Over 7,000 (7,119) fixed charge notices were handed out for road traffic offences in Kerry last year.
That’s according to figures provided by Minister for Justice Jim O’Callaghan following a query from Fine Gael TD Michael Murphy.
Nationally last year, over 330,000 (331,280) fixed charge notices were issued by Gardaí across the country.
The Waterford/Kilkenny Garda Division had the highest number at over 26,000, while the Sligo/Leitrim Garda Division had the fewest at over 4,400.
