Over 700 new homes were completed in Kerry last year.
That’s according to the latest figures from the Central Statistics Office.
It shows nationally more than 36,000 new homes were completed in 2025, a 20% rise in a year.
The CSO report shows that 727 new dwellings were completed in Kerry during 2025.
This represents an over 50% rise in a year, when compared with 479 completions in 2024.
Across the six local electoral areas in the county, Killarney saw the highest number of homes completed last year, at 245.
158 new homes were completed in the Kenmare area , while there were 142 finished in Tralee.
There were 89 completion of units in the Corca Dhuibhne LEA in 2025, and 56 dwellings were completed in the Listowel area.
Castleisland was the LEA with the least amount of new homes completed last year, at 37.
In the fourth quarter of 2025, 218 new dwellings were finished, 19 of which were apartments, 103 were single units, while 96 were listed as scheme.
The figures show, the South-West, which comprises Kerry, Cork County and Cork City, was the region with the most single dwelling completions in 2025.
987 were completed in the area last year, which represents 17% of all such completions nationally.
According to the CSO, 2025 saw the highest number of home completions in the country since the new dwelling reports began in 2011.
