Over 560 applicants are on the social housing waiting list in the Corca Dhuibhne MD area.
That’s according to figures provided at the recent Municipal District meeting.
Social housing units are sought by 568 applicants in the Corca Dhuibhne Municipal District.
That figure includes applicants who have indicated Corca Dhuibhne as one of their three areas of choice.
303 are awaiting one bed units; 148 applications have been made for two-bed homes; and 96 are on the list for three-bed units.
18 applicants are awaiting 4 bed houses, while three are on the list for 5 bed homes.
Excluding transfers from other MD areas - 366 applicants are awaiting social housing within the Municipal District.
There are currently two vacant units in the Corca Dhuibhne MD; of these one dwelling is under repair and unallocated; while one unit is awaiting repairs.
In total within the Castleisland-Corca Dhuibhne MD 1,088 applicants are awaiting social housing.
