Over 540 applicants are on the social housing waiting list in the Corca Dhuibhne MD area.
That’s according to figures provided at the recent Municipal District meeting.
Social housing units are sought by 546 applicants in the Corca Dhuibhne Municipal District.
That figure includes applicants who have indicated the MD as one of their three areas of choice.
290 are awaiting one bed units; 131 applications have been made for two-bed homes; and 106 are on the list for 3 bed units.
16 applicants are awaiting 4 bed houses, while three are on the list for 5 bed homes.
Excluding transfers from other MD areas - 330 applicants are awaiting social housing within the Municipal District.
There are currently three vacant units in the Corca Dhuibhne MD; of these one dwelling is under repair and unallocated; one units is awaiting repairs; and one home is under repair and allocated.
In total within the Castleisland-Corca Dhuibhne MD 1,066 applicants are awaiting social housing.
