Over 470 litter complaints were made to Kerry County Council during the first three quarters of the year.
That’s according to figures compiled to the council, which were presented to members.
The figures outline the number of complaints, fines issued and court prosecutions for environmental matters.
477 litter complaints were made and investigated by the council between January and the end of September.
53 fines were issued on foot of these complaints, 30 of which have been paid to date.
There were also two court conviction during that time, totaling €1,500.
During the first nine months of the year, Kerry County Council also investigated 413 waste complaints, along with 148 water complaints.
There were two court convictions relating to water complaints during the period, totaling €2,250.
Meanwhile, there were also 22 air related complaints investigated by the council between January and the end of September this year.
