Over 3,500 (3,575) people in Kerry are in receipt of jobseeker’s allowance.
This is a payment for people who are out of work or have been made part-time, to help support them while looking for work.
The figures, which cover up to May, show nationally more than 105,000 (105,601) people were in receipt of jobseeker’s allowance.

The figures were provided by Minister for Social Protection Dara Calleary following a query from Fine Gael TD John Paul O’Shea.
