Over 28,000 students in Kerry will benefit from free schoolbooks.
It’s part of over €4.8 million in funding under the free school books scheme for the 2026/27 school term.
The scheme provides schoolbooks, workbooks and copybooks for all pupils enrolled in primary, post-primary and special schools.
In Kerry, over 15,700 (15,778) primary school students will benefit while more than 12,600 (12,681) secondary school pupils are included.
The announcement has been welcomed by Children’s Minister Norma Foley, Fine Gael Senator Mike Kennelly, and Fianna Fáil Deputy Michael Cahill.
