Over 260 litter complaints were made to Kerry County Council during the first five months of this year.
That’s according to figures compiled by the council, which were presented to members.
The figures outline the number of complaints, fines issued and court prosecutions for environmental matters.
266 litter complaints were made and investigated by the council between January and May.
25 fines were issued on foot of these complaints, 13 of which have been paid to date.
There were also two court convictions during that time, totalling €1,500.
During the first five months of this year, Kerry County Council investigated 267 waste complaints.
The council also investigated a further 76 water complaints, one of which resulted in court conviction and a fine of €1,700.
The council also investigated 10 air complaints during the same period.
