Over 14,000 children in Kerry receive hot school meals.
That’s according to figures provided by Social Protection Minister Dara Calleary.
The School Meals Programme aims to provide regular and nutritious food to students in order to support their education.
As of last month, 14,100 pupils in Kerry receive a hot school meal.
Nationally, Over 2400 (2,486) schools are part of the programme, providing over 418,000 (418,964) students with access to hot school meals at lunchtime.
The figures were provided in response to a query from Fianna Fáil TD Ryan O’Meara.
