Over 1,100 babies were born in University Hospital Kerry in 2023.
That’s according to the latest CSO Vital Statistics report.
It shows 1,132 births were recorded in UHK, while the average age of mothers in the county was 33.4 years.

Nationally, a record number of babies were born to woman aged over 45 in 2023 (with 408 births recorded, up 80% on 2013).
Meanwhile, the death rate in Kerry in the year stood at 6.5 per 1,000 population.
