Over 1,000 (1,003) Kerry children have benefited from the My Little Library initiative this year.
That’s according to figures announced by Children’s Minister and Kerry Fianna Fáil TD, Norma Foley.
The scheme aims to build links and support between children and the library, while the bag is filled with books and tools to help primary school pupils.
Parents and children are being encouraged to pick up their free little library book bags in any of the nine local authority libraries in Kerry, if they have not yet done so.
The announcement has been welcomed by Fine Gael Senator, Mike Kennelly, and Fianna Fáil TD, Michael Cahill.
Parents and children are encouraged to visit and pick up free My Little Library book bags for their children from the following local authority ran libraries - Ballybunion, Caherciveen, Castleisland, Dingle/Daingean Uí Chúis, Kenmare, Killarney, Killorglin, Listowel and Tralee.
