Awards season is in full swing now, and after a successful trip to the Golden Globes and Critics Choice all Irish eyes are on Jessie Buckley today.

The Kerry native is tipped to get a nod in the Best Actress category, for her performance in 'Hamnet.'

Her co-star Paul Mescal could also be nominated for Best Supporting Actor.

Andrew Scott could also be in with a shot on the shortlist for his performance in comedy-drama Blue Moon.

Dubliner Richard Baneham, who is a double Oscar winner for his visual effects work on the Avatar films, is favoured to do the treble for his work on the recently released Avatar: Fire and Ash.

Elsewhere, Leonardo DiCaprio's politically-charged thriller One Battle After Another is expected to lead the field.
