The Newmarket Environmental Protection Group (NEPG) says it will continue its campaign against a proposed lithium-ion battery storage facility, around 10 miles (16.8 km) west of the Kerry border.
The group made the statement after Cork County Council granted planning permission to French energy company NEOEN.
A public meeting will take place this evening (12th of August) at 8pm at the Cultúrlann in Newmarket to discuss next steps.
While the group says it supports renewable energy, it believes the site overlooking the Duhallow town is not suitable for the development.
They say the site is near a historic graveyard, a primary school, and the Blue Flag-designated Dalua River.
