Just 7% of disqualified drivers in Kerry have been surrendering their driving licence.
Disqualifications can be applied for a range of motoring offences including excess penalty points, dangerous driving and drink or drug driving.
A county by county breakdown sought by Social Democrats TD Aidan Farrelly showed surrender rates of just between 7% and 18% across the country.
Figures for Kerry were among the lowest at 7% with only 16 out of the 228 drivers required to hand in their licences in 2024 doing so.
Gardaí have warned of the implications on road safety, and that they have access to the National Vehicle Driver file which they can use to detect and prosecute a driver who continues to drive while disqualified.
