There is a growing crisis in Kerry with regard to post-mortem examinations.
That’s according to Professor Denis Cusack, who’s Director of the Medical Bureau of Road Safety.
Professor Cusack was speaking at the Oireachtas Joint Committee on Transport, in response to Fine Gael TD Michael Murphy.
He said bringing in locum pathologists from the UK is costly and is only a temporary solution.
Deputy Murphy said locum pathologists are being brought in to Waterford from the UHK three days a week, but Professor Cusack said there are crises elsewhere in Ireland too.
