North Kerry road closed due to oil spill

Gardaí say the R556 Listowel to Duagh road has reopened to traffic, following an oil spill.

2:15pm:

The R556 Listowel to Duagh road is closed because of an oil spill.

Gardaí have described road conditions near Smearla Bridge as treacherous, and are instructing road users to avoid the area.

The council is at the scene of the spill, however, Gardaí are advising that the road is likely to be closed for about two hours.
