A North Kerry man in his 20s will face drugs charges against him in the Circuit Court.
26-year-old Danny Cronin of Knockavallig, Duagh, appeared in Tralee District Court recently.
Judge David Waters refused jurisdiction in Mr Cronin’s case, after hearing the confirmed quantity of drugs with which Mr Cronin is allegedly involved.
Mr Cronin is accused of the possession of cocaine, and possession of the drug for sale or supply, at Knockavallig, Duagh, last November.
At Tralee District Court, Sgt Chris Manton said directions from the Director of Public Prosecutions were not available yet.
He said that a certificate of analysis of the drugs has now been received from Forensic Science Ireland, confirming the substance seized to be cocaine.
Sgt Manton said the estimated value of the cocaine is €117,500.
Judge Waters formally refused jurisdiction, meaning Mr Cronin’s case will be heard in the Circuit Court, which has wider sentencing powers on conviction.
Mr Cronin’s solicitor Pat Mann said his client has been in custody for some time, and asked for his case to be expedited.
Mr Cronin was remanded in continuing custody to 1st April, for the book of evidence to be served.
