A North Kerry man has been remanded in continuing custody, in connection with alleged criminal damage and the alleged assault of a garda.
The 27-year-old, who can’t be named for legal reasons, faces four charges arising from an alleged domestic incident in North Kerry on 26th April.
The man is charged with breach of a barring order, obstructing a garda, assault, and criminal damage to a garda car in North Kerry on 26th April.
The court previously heard the accused allegedly turned up at the house of his partner, in breach of a barring order she had obtained.
The man was allegedly aggressive and insulting towards her, and then was allegedly aggressive towards gardaí when they arrived at the scene.
He’s alleged to have headbutted the rear left window of the garda patrol car, smashing it, and then stumbling onto a garda, and injuring the garda in the process.
The man was refused bail at that initial sitting, and he appeared at a recent sitting of Kenmare District Court, where his solicitor Pádraig O’Connell said the man will be applying for bail in the High Court.
The man was remanded in continuing custody to tomorrow, when he will appear via video link at a sitting of Tralee District Court.
