Nine new EV recharging hubs announced for Kerry

Nine new electric vehicle (EV) recharging hubs have been announced across Kerry’s national road network.

They are part of an announcement of 90 new hubs across Ireland by the Minister for Transport, Darragh O’Brien.

Almost €10 million will fund 192 fast recharging points, averaging 250 kW, across the 90 sites on Ireland’s national primary and secondary road network.

The new hubs are part of the Light Duty Vehicle (LDV) initiative, operated by Zero Emission Vehicles Ireland (ZEVI) and delivered by Transport Infrastructure Ireland (TII).

The hubs at service stations, car parks, hotels, supermarkets, and other publicly accessible sites were funded by the department following a competitive grant process.

These EV recharging hubs in Kerry will be located at Garvey's SuperValu, Castleisland (N23); Kelly's Top Service Station (N69); Cirkle K Express, Waterville (N70); Murphy's SuperValu, Kenmare (N70); Corrib Oil, Kenmare (N71); Hegarty's Service Station, Killarney (N71); Donagh Hickey Motors, Rathmore (N72); Keane's SuperValu, Killorglin (N72); and O'Shea's Gala, Blennerville (N86).
