Niall Collins is taking over the role as Forestry Minister, his appointment comes following Michael Healy Rae's resignation from Government.
In April, the Kerry TD resigned as a Junior Minister to vote no confidence in the Government, saying he couldn't back the coalition after its response to the fuel protests.
Deputy Michael Healy-Rae says he is extending his congratulations to Minister of State Niall Collins on his appointment.
Deputy Healy-Rae says he wishes the Junior Minister every success in the role and says the sectors under his remit require strong leadership and practical engagement at a critically important time.
Meanwhile, Fianna Fáil's Catherine Ardagh is set to be appointed as a Minister of State in the Department of Justice, following Niall Collin's move to the Department of Agriculture.
