The next chairperson of MTU’s governing body has been selected.
Despite this, the university plans not to announce the appointee until the end of this year.
In a statement to Radio Kerry News, Munster Technological University (MTU) said the current chair, Jimmy Deenihan, will continue to serve until his term ends on 31 December.
MTU’s governing body approved his successor at its 3 July meeting.
It says the delayed announcement will allow for the appropriate communication to relevant stakeholders.
They report that the open recruitment process attracted a good number of high-quality expressions of interest.
