A new walk/cycleway was officially opened in Killarney today.
The 750-metre pathway, which joins Ross Road to Muckross Road, was funded by the Department of Transport, Tourism and Sport and the National Transport Authority.
Cathaoirleach of Killarney Municipal District Cllr Brendan Cronin paid tribute to those who brought the project to fruition, including the contactor Daniel Canty and local authority staff.

Local priest Father Niall Howard blessed the pathway as part of the opening and acknowledged the importance of a quiet space for walking and cycling.
