The new cathaoirleach of Kerry County Council says the county needs to be prepared for uncertain times.
Fine Gael's Michael Foley of Listowel MD was elected unopposed, having been proposed by Cllr Bobby O’Connell and seconded by Cllr Tommy Griffin.
Labour's Marie Moloney was voted in as leas-chaoirleach, after being proposed by party colleague Terry O'Brien and seconded by Cllr. Norma Moriarty.
The cathaoirligh of the various municipal districts for the 2025/2026 council year were also elected in Áras an Chontae earlier today.
