Initiative to allow people travel from Kerry to Dublin on road and rail under one ticket
A new ticketing and travel initiative between coach operator Dublin Express and Irish Rail was launched today, Monday 16th October. For the first time, passengers travelling from all rail destinations to Heuston can buy their tickets online with Irish Rail and have the option of adding an onward connecting bus journey from Heuston Station to Dublin Airport with Dublin Express. The service will be extending shortly to all services to Connolly Station taking in services from stations like Sligo, Belfast, Rosslare Europort, Northern, Maynooth Commuter services and those on the DART line. Dublin Express expect 180,000 passengers to use their service between Heuston Station and Dublin Airport this year. Assuming two passengers per car, this has removed 90,000 car journeys in 2023 from this route alone. Passengers throughout Kerry are now able to travel to Dublin Airport with one ticket.

This is thanks to a ticketing and travel initiative between coach operator Dublin Express and Iarnród Éireann.

This allows people all over Kerry to travel to Heuston, with the option to add a connection to Dublin Airport.
