Kerry people are being asked to do their bit to ensure Ireland's blood stocks remain steady during the busy holiday month of August.
The Irish Blood Transfusion Service is holding a number of clinics in Kerry in the coming days, and is looking for both exisiting and new donors to come forward.
Donations typically run low during the summer months - yet demand for blood is always high from the August bank holiday onwards.
Alex O'Connor from the IBTS says 65 percent of donations go to support Irish cancer patients, and over five percent to support childbirth.
He says most people can become blood donors, if they're willing:
