Kerry County Council has set up a free alert service for members of the public.
The service gives subscribers important messages and updates through text or email about issues such as weather alerts, road closures, community events, public consultations and planning.
The council has teamed up with MapAlerter.ie to deliver the service.

The communications tool is currently being used by over half of the local authorities in Ireland.
