MTU Kerry is appealing to homeowners in Tralee to rent a spare room or property to students for the upcoming academic year.
In recent years, the housing crisis has resulted in a shortage of student accommodation nationwide, with many student commuting long distances to college or university.
Munster Technical University has how launched a campaign asking property owners within a 5 kilometre radius of Tralee town to consider hosting a student from September.
They say students at MTU Kerry are looking for safe, comfortable and convenient accommodation during the academic year
The university says up to €14,000 euro per year can be earned tax free doing so under the Rent-a-Room Relief Scheme.
