The Construction Industry Federation says more women are needed in construction across Kerry to help meet Ireland’s housing, infrastructure and climate targets.
Just 11 per cent of the 191-thousand people working in the sector nationwide are women, which the Federation says the county can’t afford to ignore.
CEO Andrew Brownlee says solving complex building and climate challenges means drawing on the widest possible talent pool.
The issue will be in focus at the CIF’s International Women’s Day Summit at The Johnstown Estate, highlighting apprenticeships, STEM routes and new digital careers in construction.
The Federation says firms in Kerry are already working to boost mentoring and inclusive recruitment.
